Des Moines Mini Maker Faire

The 2025 Des Moines Mini Maker Faire will be hosted by the Science Center of Iowa on Saturday, April 26, 2025. The all-ages festival celebrates those who tinker, build, experiment and collaborate.
Exhibitors will showcase creativity from across the state, and attendees will be able to participate in hands-on activities to discover their own inner maker. There will be a lot of activities for visitors to do, including skill stations where you can learn to solder, build circuits, knit or crochet, and make puppets. Multiple local robotics teams will be onsite to talk about their projects and provide live demonstrations.
All Des Moines Mini Maker Faire activities are included with SCI general admission — free for members!

Workshops
There will be FREE workshops in SCI's multipurpose room that visitors can sign up for that day. Each participant must register for the workshop including any supervising adults.
There will also be workshops held in the Innovation Lab. These workshops are offered for an additional $5 fee. Each participant must register for the workshop including any supervising adults.
Registration for each of these workshops will be available onsite at SCI the day of the event.
