Saturday February 2 2019

  • The Science Center of Iowa is an exciting place, bustling with sights and sounds... but one Saturday morning each month, we provide a quieter, less crowded visit for Sensory-Friendly Hours!

Sensory-Friendly Hours are funded in part by a grant from Variety – the Children’s Charity.

  • Meet and get the chance to touch some of SCI’s resident reptiles and amphibians.

  • Young visitors can explore how the human body works with a large, soft sculpture doll.

  • Discover how international teams are attempting to be the first to land a robotic spacecraft on the Moon as they compete for the Google Lunar XPRIZE. Program and location subject to change.

  • Come check out the colorful, ooey-gooey and other fun experiments we'll mix up.  Program and location subject to change.

  • From things that glow to things that explode, this program is a real blast!

  • This show reveals dark matter's earliest clues, covering the astral choreography of galactic orbits as well as sensitive detectors hidden deep underground in ancient gold mines. Narrated by Tilda Swinton. Program and location subject to change.
