    Study the science of inflatable architecture, and take the first step to becoming a space architect! 

    During this hands-on family workshop, you will learn how scale, geometry, pressure and aesthetics all play a role in inflatable architecture and how this relates to designing structures for space. You will start by building small-scale paper models then work collaboratively to create large inflatable objects and environments.

    Workshop host Eric Schrijver is an architect and structural engineer from The Netherlands who specializes in membrane and inflatable architecture. He often works with Architects of Air, the company that brought the large, inflatable color-sculpture Albesila to Cowles Commons last October.

    Workshops cost $5.50 per person and are open exclusively to SCI members.
