SCI to offer free admission on MLK Day

The Science Center of Iowa (SCI) will offer free admission on Monday, January 21, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.  Visitors will be able to experience all of SCI’s exhibits and programs, including the latest permanent exhibition Brick by Brick, which combines spectacular LEGO-built structures with hands-on building challenges to encourage visitors to find their inner engineer. Free admission on MLK Day is made possible with support from Principal® Foundation.

SCI will then be closed January 22-25 for its semi-annual maintenance and cleaning week. The organization is preparing to open its recently announced traveling exhibit, Mental Health: Mind Matters, which aims to spark community conversation around the topics of mental health and mental illness. That exhibit opens on February 5.
