Add a Discovery Lab or Innovation Lab Workshop to your visit!
Available only during the school year, these private lab and workshop sessions give students a unique opportunity to engage in STEM learning.
NEW! Innovation Lab Workshops
SCI’s technology-focused makerspace is designed to ignite the maker’s mindset and cultivate creativity, problem-solving and critical thinking.
Private workshops offer unique, hands-on experiences engaging in making, tinkering and design thinking. Workshops range from 60-90 minutes and integrate Next Generation Science Standards and computer science standards.
3D Design and AR
Learn how Augmented Reality is used in video games, interior design and photo enhancement. Explore ways to use CAD software to create 3D images that can be viewed in augmented reality.
Microbits and Bots
Learn how many of the gadgets you use every day are programmed with Microcontrollers. Explore ways to use a Microbit to create useful tools that are useful.
Robotics and Coding
Learn about how robots can improve our lives by helping us with our daily chores or doing dangerous tasks. Explore ways to program different robots using block based coding.
These private 45- to 60-minute lab sessions are for groups of up to 30 students. Participants have the opportunity to get their hands on science with an SCI Programs Team member!
Explore the exciting world of chemistry as SCI mixes up some creative concoctions. You won’t want to miss these ooey-gooey experiments and amazing demonstrations that will make your mind "explode!" Reinforces National Science Standards: Science as Inquiry and Physical Science.
