  • Thursday August 23, 2018

The Science Center of Iowa will offer free admission for students on Wednesday, September 5, from 1:00-5:00 pm during its inaugural "Back-to-School Bash."

The event celebrates the beginning of the school year and invites Des Moines-area families to experience the Science Center of Iowa and its permanent exhibit, Brick by Brick, which opens on Labor Day. Engineering challenges and hands-on making activities as well as live science demonstrations will be available throughout the afternoon.

The event serves as a kickoff to SCI’s "Wednesdays After Class" program, which will feature similar programming every Wednesday afternoon throughout the school year.

Free admission for the Back-to-School Bash applies to all students, including college students with a student ID. Children 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Adult admission is $12; $8 for seniors.
