Science Center of Iowa hosting 25th annual fundraising gala

  • Monday August 21, 2023

The Science Center of Iowa (SCI) will host its 25th annual fundraising gala on Friday, August 26 from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. Go Beyond with SCI – Let’s Get Moving!

The event, held each year at SCI, is not your traditional fundraising event. Guests will be treated to heavy hors d’oeuvres and desserts, cocktails, a silent auction, and special shows in our program theaters.

“Reaching a 25 year milestone for anything these days is no small feat,” said Curt Simmons, SCI president and CEO. “On behalf of the entire SCI team, we are honored that our supporters have been getting together annually to celebrate and support SCI’s mission for the past 25 years.”

The Science Center of Iowa’s annual fundraising event began in 1998, when the center was located in Greenwood Park. The event continued after SCI moved its operations downtown in 2005. After hosting the annual fundraising event virtually for two years during the pandemic, the gala returned back downtown to SCI last year.

Funds raised during this event underwrite opportunities for more than 300,000 children, teens and adults to engage in science learning through interactive exhibits, live programming, special events, workshops and camps at SCI each year.

Tickets for SCI’s annual gala are currently on sale. Individual tickets are $150 and VIP tickets are $200. Tickets can be purchased online at www.sciowa.org/scigala.
